The Reluctant Vampire Your toothbrush isn't long enough, you've spent a month's wages on a suitably imposing cape (and find yourself tripping over the hem every time you walk anywhere with it on) and the blood in the fridge has a tendency to leak over your ham sandwiches. Not to mention the urge that comes over you once or twice a week to dig your fangs into some poor chap's jugular… Yes, life (or death as it happens) is difficult for a vampire. Since the night of the Incident (it's already assumed capital letter status in your mind), you've had twice weekly meetings with your local marriage counsellor. You're not married, and counselling vampires on the newly acquired hassles of avoiding sunlight, holy artefacts and mobs of unfriendly people bearing crosses and burning torches is probably not within the counsellor's job description, but she's local and has an office without windows. Ideal in other words. Travelling too far is awkward because of the ever present threat of sunlight and your unfortunate tendency to try and run priests off the road if you happen to come across any.
